Permits and Authorizations

We assist the parties in mergers and acquisitions transactions to comply with the requirements of the local law on mergers and acquisitions. In so doing, our firm represents both buyers and sellers in acquisitions, divestitures and joint ventures in completion of the transaction to ensure compliance with local law. Our services include obtaining permits and approvals from revenue authorities, fair competition commission and sector based regulatory agencies. Examples of specific sectors where prior consent of the regulatory authority to a change of control in the ownership of a licence or the transfer of a licence is required are banking (which require approval of the Bank of Tanzania); insurance industries (which require approval of Tanzania Insurance Regulatory Authority); mineral rights (which require approval of the Minister for Energy and Minerals) and telecommunications and broadcasting (which require the approval of Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority).
