Robert’s professional experiences include drafting of a converged law for telecommunications, broadcasting and Internet activities for the Ministry of Communications and Transport of Zambia (2004-2005); drafting of a converged law for telecommunications, broadcasting and Internet activities for the Ministry of Communications of Tanzania (2004); advice to the Tanzanian government on the creation of a fund for financing communications access in rural and underserved areas (2003-2004); drafting and negotiation of a first-demand guarantee binding the parent company of a French-based telecommunications equipment supplier (2003); negotiation with the French authorities, on behalf of a major US software company, for an authorisation to import and distribute encryption products in France (2000-2001) and advising a major US communications company on the bankruptcy proceedings affecting its French-based debtor (2003).
Robert possesses the following educational qualifications:
(i) 2000 - Ecole de Formation du Barreau, Paris, France, Admitted to the Paris Bar as avocet.
(ii) 1998-1999 Universite de Paris II, Paris, France, Post-Graduate Diploma (DSU) in Private International Law.
(iii) 1995 - Centre for Professional Legal Studies, Wellington, New Zealand, Admitted to the New Zealand Bar as barrister and solicitor.
(iv) 1990-1994 - Canterbury University, Christchurch, New Zealand, LL.B. / Bachelor of Arts (French).
