Hamudi Majamba is a Partner and a co-founder of LawCastles. He was born at Bukoba, Tanzania on 12 December 1967. He was admitted to practice law in Tanzania in 1994. Hamudi is a graduate of the University of Dar es Salaam (LL.B 1992). He is also a graduate of Queen's University in Ontario, Canada (LL.M, 1994). Hamudi posses a certificate in American law from the University of Delaware (Certiticate in American Law 1996) and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in law from Northeastern University in Boston (Ph.D 1999). Hamudi is one of the high profile lawyers in Tanzania and has special interest in environmental issues relating to energy, infrastructure and Public-Private Partnerships projects.
Hamudi is an active member of Tanganyika Law Society and East African Law Society. Hamudi is also a member of Environmental Law Alliance World-wide, African Studies Association and Wildlife Conservation Society. Hamudi teaches law at the University of Dar es Salaam and has acted as an external examiner in several universities in southern Africa.
The specific areas of law in which Hamudi practices law are environmental issues in energy, infrastructure and Public-Private Partnerships projects. Further, Hamudi advises companies and the Government on environmental issues in mining and natural resources law (particularly minerals, petroleum and natural gas exploration & production). He also practices in Government contracts, public works contracts, corporate taxation, commercial arbitration, commercial litigation, intellectual property litigation, asset tracing, establishment of business, company secretarial law, company formation, secured lending, foreign investments and general corporate and commercial law.
